It’s harder to get up in the mornings during winter: it’s cold and dark outside, so it’s much more enticing just to stay in bed, right? Prepare yourself by getting a warm dressing gown ready and switch your lamp on right away. Being a morning person is so beneficial as it allows you to actually get out of the house when the daylight is strongest, – between 6 am and 10 am – something that scientists have proven to help battle SAD.

 5. Laugh more

It may seem appealing to just go home after work and cuddle up on the sofa with a cup of tea, but try to stay as social as you’ve been in the summer. Ensuring that we continue to spend time with the people that we love the most can actually help us to transition into the colder months and stop from falling into a gloomy state.

 3. Pay attention to your sleep pattern

You might need a solid 9 hours of sleep during autumn, or you might be one of the lucky ones who can get away with 6 hours – you won’t know until you test it out! Once you know how much sleep is good for you, make sure you stick to a routine and get the right amount each night.
