The shooting of the movie hasn’t even started yet, but some details have already been revealed.
Omega Underground reports Hiroyuki Sanada, the star of Wolverine and Last Samurai, to be cast as the villain in the movie, along with other Japanese actors. The source suggests Sanada might be playing a yakuza representative at the High Table.
The website speculates that Japan could be a possible location alongside Montreal, which was the place where a part of the second movie was filmed. Morocco and Jordan, as well as Russia and Spain, are reported to be possible locations too, so Keanu will need to clock up a significant amount of air miles.
The movie is set to hit the big screens on 17 May 2019.
A spin-off TV series The Continental for Starz channel is also in progress. The action on the show takes place in the Continental Hotel, a refuge of assassins.
Chris Albrecht, Starz CEO, promises that The Continental will be full of heavily staged fighting and shootouts. It’s also going to introduce some dark compelling characters from the underground world.
Lionsgate is going to produce the series, with Chris Collins as a screenwriter. The same creative team is going to work both on film and the series, including executive producers Chad Stahelski and David Leitch.
