The famous actor and former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson looks so active and happy, it’s hard to believe he’s been struggling with himself for his entire life.

Johnson has been facing and battling mental illness since he was a teenager. Due to the harsh circumstances of his bringing up, he still struggles with low moods. It all started after his family got expelled from their home in Tennessee when he was a child.

At the age of 15, Johnson was a witness to a scene he would never forget. His mother tried to end her life, jumping onto the road in front of traffic. Thankfully, he managed to save her.

“I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road,” he recalled to The Express.

Curiously, until this day, Johnson’s mother doesn’t remember a second from the episode.

What also affected Dwayne Johnson’s mental health was dropping out of Canadian Football league and ending a relationship with a long-time girlfriend. As he admits, it was the unhappiest period of his life: he would live on autopilot and cry the entire time.

Fortunately, the bad streak was over, and Johnson saw the light. The Hollywood star and his partner Lauren Hashian are now expecting their second child. And the next month we will see him in movie theaters in ‘Rampage’.
