Ryan Reynolds’ team came up with a genuinely clever piece to promote two of this May’s biggest events: the release of Deadpool 2 and the final of the Eurovision song contest.
In the video, Deadpool rants hilariously about Canada being snubbed and ignored as a participant of the world’s biggest song contest. “Canada, a beautiful country steeped in rich, musical history that includes the likes of Adams, Bieber, Young, Bublé, Shatner. Our generous gift of Céline Dion alone should earn us an invite,” says Reynolds, a born Canadian too.
He also adds that Australia, which is much further from Europe than Canada, has been invited and successfully performs at Eurovision. Deadpool has got a point here. Australia has been taking part in the contest since 2015, with Demi Im almost winning in 2016.
“Well it stops now, Europe,” Deadpool concludes with a playful threat, ” You’ve awakened a sleeping moose.”

Australia, Canada… It sounds like Eurovision is turning into Worldvision. Imagine a 50-hour-non-stop-singing marathon! But there is never too much of a good thing, is there?
Eurovision’s final show will be broadcasted this Saturday. Deadpool 2 is hitting the big screens on May 16.
