Artist Uses Pencils To Create Amazing Graphite Sculptures!


Salavat Fidai is an amazing Russian sculptor, with over 729k people following his work on Instagram. He takes ordinary pencils and turns them into astonishing graphite sculptures.

He works painstakingly with a carving tool against the wood of the pencil before he is able to start making marks on the pencil lead itself.

Graphite can be very fragile, so we can only imagine how steady Fidai’s hands must be in order to create such intricate work! Each individual piece takes between six and twelve hours, though more complicated pieces can take up to three days to create.
