13-year-old Cassidy took her life because of bullying

Bullying is a common thing nowadays. It seems many of us faced it, at least once. You can be a victim or see how others are bullied. Or you may be a bully by yourself. These days a lot of children become a subject of bullying, which can be psychological or physical, which turns their life into real hell.

Cassidy Trevan is one of them. This Australian girl knows what all above-said means, as performed a role of the victim for a long time. Most of all, she suffered psychologically but several times it happened to be a physical bullying.

She had to listen to those horrible and disgusting names they were calling her. It was done not only at Cassidy’s school but the Internet as well. The highest point of that was when they vandalized her house.

The things went so bad that she refused visiting classes. The conversations with those bullies didn’t help to solve the situation. She didn’t go to school during the whole term and then decided to try again. She started from two days per week.

Those bad girls, who were bullying her apologized and offered friendship. They even offered her to go to the festival with them. Cassidy was really happy to hear that. She didn’t communicate with anybody for a long time, so even friendship with those bullies made her extremely happy.

But the girl couldn’t even imagine what her friends were preparing for her. They found two guys to rape Cassidy. They went together to the house, where everything happened. The girls were watching how those animals raped Cassidy in turns. At that moment she was only 13.

She reported to the police, but the lack of evidence left all those bullies unpunished.

Their family moved and she went to a different school. In spite of that, those hooligans were attacking her in shops and even called her mother, Linda, who has been doing everything possible to save the daughter but Cassidy felt really bad. It was even difficult for her to get out of bed. She killed herself in December 2015. After that horrible moment, her mother found a letter, Cassidy had written before. It’s a message which every bully and their victims should read.

Cassidy’s Letter

“I was a student at (school name omitted) and I was raped by some of the students who still attend that school. I know this already probably sounds like attention-seeking but it’s honestly far from it. I have many reasons for doing this which I’ll also explain.

My aim is to warn other people (students mostly but also parents) about what happened because I’m worried if they could do it to me they could do it to other kids like me, or at least try to. You actually have the power to stop this from happening. Remember the people who did this to me were school students at (omitted), it’s hard to believe, I know. But it’s true.

I’m not doing this for revenge to those students that raped me, set up the rape, bullied me about the rape, teased me about the rape or anything like that. I’m also not doing this for attention seeking like I mentioned earlier, I want to make that clear.

I’m doing this because over 1500 students years 7-12 are currently enrolled at the school and they need to be warned. I feel because of what happened to me, and because the staff at the school did nothing to help me (which I’ll talk a bit more about later). It’s now my duty to warn you all and to make you aware of what happened. (Not just what you may have heard around school but what actually happened.)

But I’m also doing this for myself. I want to finally after 1 and ½ years be left alone. It’s surprising just how many students at (omitted) have heard stories of me and weirdly enough still get told stories of me to this day. I still continue to get students I’ve never met contacting me Facebook calling me a slut. I’ve moved schools, I’ve moved house and still I’m being contacted and bullied. I can’t stop people from spreading rumours, but at least I could try and spread what really happened seeing as it’s still being talked about anyway. But as I said this honestly is more so for students who are unaware of this and are in danger of those students.

My name is Cassidy Trevan, and I was raped.

If anyone every tries this on you trust me it’s worth fighting! Fight! If you don’t you’ll regret it for the rest of your life like I do. You can do it.

Be careful. Be warned. Be safe.”

The Australian Channel 9 published it. The news about her death shocked many. In fact, all of us should unite and stop this. Linda has been silent for a long time. She spoke only when found the letter.
